While electric motors provide excellent torque characteristics, traditional automated manual transmissions (AMT) often suffer from "power interruption" and noticeable jolts during shifts. Additionally, inconsistent shifting forces can lead to gear jamming or excessive wear on mechanical parts.

To solve these issues, the Tenglong Automotive technical team, led by Project Manager Quan Hongli, developed a new ATM mechanism designed to balance rapid automated shifting with smooth, stable performance.

Engineering Excellence: Precision and Protection

The RD01 project introduces several key technical innovations:

Dual-Stage and Triple-Stage Transmission: The mechanism utilizes a secondary gear drive for selection and a tertiary gear drive for shifting, ensuring precision and reliability.

Intelligent Sensing: Integrated sensors on the end caps provide real-time data to optimize shifting timing.

High Portability: The design is highly adaptable; with minor adjustments to size and strength, the mechanism can be ported to various other AMT gearboxes.

Enhanced Safety Structure: The design incorporates a dual-buffering protection system that significantly extends the lifespan of the shifting lever and ensures a safer environment for the driver.

Proven Results and Intellectual Property

The project has officially achieved a national utility model patent: "A Double Protection Device for Electric Vehicle Gear Shifting" (Patent No. ZL201721907919.4). The evaluation committee—including General Manager Ye Lizhang—confirmed that the project has met all technical benchmarks, providing a superior level of protection and smoothness compared to existing technologies.
