In the event of a rear-end collision, new energy vehicles face a severe risk: the deformation of the vehicle body can damage high-voltage battery packs, leading to short circuits and potential fires. Current safety measures often fail to disconnect power fast enough to prevent these catastrophic outcomes.


To solve this, the Tenglong Automotive engineering team developed an active system that detects collision force in real-time and triggers an immediate electrical shutdown.

Engineering Excellence: Intelligent Detection and Rapid Response

The RD03 project introduces several sophisticated technical features designed for maximum reliability:

Advanced Force Sensing: The system utilizes a specialized force-sensing plate and a reset spring mechanism to detect the physical impact of a collision.


Active Disconnection Mechanism: Upon impact, a sliding plate is triggered to move, interacting with a conductive block to instantly sever the electrical circuit.

Dual-Layer Insulation: The system is housed in a dedicated insulating box with a protective cover, ensuring the mechanism itself remains safe from environmental interference.

Impact-Resistant Design: By using high-performance buffer springs and a scientifically calculated structural layout, the system can function reliably under extreme mechanical stress.

Proven Results and Patent Recognition

The project's success is backed by a national utility model patent: "An Active Power Disconnection Protection System for New Energy Vehicle Rear-End Collisions" (Patent No. ZL201721907720.1). The final evaluation committee—led by General Manager Ye Lizhang—concluded that the system achieves rapid response times and effectively enhances the safety of the vehicle’s high-voltage system.
